ADLaR - Accessible Digital Language Resources

Accessible Digital Language Resources: Building an Inclusive Society (ADLaR)

ADLaR aims to evaluate the extent to which digital language reference resources (DLRRs) meet the needs of users of easy-to-understand (E2U) texts. This is important since these users are among the most at risk of digital exclusion. The practical goal is to enhance the accessibility of DLRRs, enabling users to better understand and produce texts and concomitantly to foster societal inclusion. Accessible DLRRs can empower individuals to better understand texts, thereby promoting intellectual and personal growth, enhancing self-confidence, and fostering a greater sense of inclusion. In the context of social and political identity, accessible language resources also have the potential to improve social cohesion by allowing users to feel part of a language-speaking community.

ADLaR is funded by the Spanish State Research Agency for a period of 48 months (PID2024-157523OB-I00).
