The History of Science and Modern Culture Research Group fosters collaboration between historical and analytical disciplines in the study of science, social thought, and cultural manifestations from the Renaissance to the contemporary age. It aims to contribute to critical reflection on modernity through the integration of diverse methodologies, from the historical study of science, technology, art, and visual culture to the analytical revision of their foundations.

The Group is currently financed by two research projects of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Our research interests range from: science and mathematics and the idea of ​​'modernity' in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries Europe; history of science and technology in relation to colonialism, decolonization and the Cold War; psychoanalysis and Marxism; cultural history, leading to cultural expression critical, visual and anthropological models of study
