In this CORE Session, our speakers will discuss an array of aspects in which Journalism and the Law are deeply intertwined: not only regarding the legal implications of journalistic work, pertaining, for example, to copyright laws and freedom of expression, but also focusing on the ways journalistic work can have an impact on other people’s rights.

 

  • 11:00 - 11:20 -  "Negotiating with Google (and Facebook): New ancillary rights for press editors (and journalists?). The Spanish case" - Dr. Javier Díaz-Noci (UPF).

 

  • 11:20 - 11:40 - "Comparative freedom of expression law and investigative journalism" - Dr. Richard Danbury (City, University of London).

 

  • 11:40 - 12:00 - "Low journalism, slow journalism and human rights. Differences and risks in the news coverage of the migratory phenomenon in Spain" - Dra. Antonia Isabel Nogales-Bocio (Universidad de Zaragoza).
