As part of her postdoctoral research stay at the DigiDoc Group, Dr. Sandra Martorell gave the Visual Imaginaries Seminar in the Communication Department of our university
The seminar was held on June 15, with the participation of Dr. Lluís Codina, as moderator; and Dr. Pere Freixa, as rapporteur.

Talking about imaginaries implies addressing a matter that is at least complex. In this sense, there are different approaches to this concept, something that often depends on the disciplines (sociology, social psychology, anthropology, among many others) or the authors, which means that there is no single definition, and study perspective.
In this seminar we will deal with the issue of imaginaries, and more specifically visual imaginaries, referred to the world of images that characterizes the current circumstance and where the popular culture of the contemporary human being is formed (Letechipía, 2019). And we will do so based on the latest study we have carried out on visual imaginaries in relation to human rights.
In this seminar we delve into the type of images that make up the visual imaginary of human rights as well as the iconographies that the digital world offers us regarding this issue. An issue that we raise in discussion with the rest of the participants in order to debate and enrich the research, inspiring new avenues of exploration and contributing significantly to the advancement of knowledge in this field.
