Hello! I’m Vanesa Daza, an Associate Professor at Pompeu Fabra University since 2012. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Universitat de Barcelona, and a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. I have both worked as a researcher in the industry (Scytl, Spain) as well as academia (Rovira i Virgili University, Spain). I did research stays at Salerno University (Italy) and Aarhus University (Denmark). I have co-authored more than 30 papers, including international journals and top conferences of cryptography and
cybersecurity. I am also the co-inventor of three international patents. I currently lead two cybersecurity-related H2020 projects, BAnDIT (MSCA-ITN-EID) and PRESENT (RIA). My main research interests deal with the use of distributed cryptographic techniques to enhance security and privacy to secure emerging technologies, with special emphasis on blockchain technology. She is an Associate Editor of the International Journal IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing. Among other positions serving UPF, she chaired the Information and Communication Technologies Department at Pompeu Fabra University.
