José Ramón Beltrán obtained his master's and doctorate in Physics at the University of Zaragoza, where he is a University Professor in the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering. Since 1990, his research activity has been related to Image Analysis and Processing and Audio Analysis and Processing and currently focuses on the study of machine learning systems for analysis, processing and synthesis of the musical signal and especially in the development of automatic musical composition systems using Deep Learning techniques. He has developed collaborations and stays in international centers such as the CCRMA of Stanford University in California. He has been Vice-Rector for Research and Vice-Rector of the International Excellence Campus of the University of Zaragoza.
