The FACCTMedia project, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (PID2019- 106367GB-I00 / AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033) and led by members of the POLCOM-GRP research group, is making steady progress in achieving the objectives set and has begun to carry out international stays that allow not only the exchange of knowledge with other universities, but also to project the research group and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra abroad.

Last May, Dr Xavier Ramon, researcher of the FACCTMedia project, Xavier Ramon, made a stay at the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania (USA) where he conducted fieldwork on the verification platform FactCheck.org. In this regard, Xavier Ramon said that the visit "allowed him to get to know in depth the structure, work methodologies and key challenges of this organisation, as well as the perception of its professionals on the role of verification in the face of the disinformation that threatens democratic well-being". During her stay, Ramon conducted ethnographic observation and interviews with 8 FactCheck.org professionals.

In the same vein, the PhD student and researcher member of the project, Saman Choudary, has carried out a stay and fieldwork at the verification platform Faktisk.no, based in Oslo, Norway.

Finally, Ruth Rodríguez, leader of the FACCTMedia project together with Marcel Mauri, will spend two months at the FactLab of the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, from 1 July. The RMIT FactLab is a research centre dedicated to social network verification, research and education to combat misinformation and develop a critical awareness of its origins and spread.

RMIT University has welcomed Ruth Rodríguez as they find this research stay "a bidirectional exchange for both institutions" and have highlighted Ruth's research profile as a professor and researcher at UPF with "research interests in media accountability, disinformation and fact-checking".
