Oriol Amat has focused his academic career on financial management and accounting. He has been an associated lecturer at the UPF since 1992, during which time he has taught on the various undergraduate, master's and doctorate programmes in the field of economics and business. Such as:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration
• International Business Economics(programme taught exclusively in English)
• Double bachelor's degree in Law and Business Management and Administration/Economics
• Research master's degree in Economics, Finance and Management
• PhD in Economics, Finance and Management

He has also directed several master's degree programmes linked to finance and accounting, including the university master's degree in Accounting and Financial Management (UPF Barcelona School of Management), for nearly thirty years.

He has published several books and articles on teaching and, in the field of management linked to teaching improvement, he served as director of the Centre for Teaching Quality and Innovation at the UPF (2006–2011), in addition to holding other positions.

In the methodological field, it has also promoted different case repositories, in several languages, both in the Department of Economics and Business at the UPF and at the BSM or at the ACCID, the Catalan Association of Accounting and Management, whose entity is co-founder.
