DOMINGO RÓDENAS DE MOYA is a university professor of Spanish and Hispano-American literature. He was a visiting lecturer at Brown University and a literary critic for El Periódico de Catalunya. He was the director of the postgraduate programme on Literary Critique in the Press (1999-2005) and he coordinated the Master’s degree in Literary Creation (2009-2011). He is a member of the advisory board for several scientific journals (Revista de Literatura, Ínsula, Pasavento. Revista de Estudios Hispánicos, Miríada Hispánica) and alongside Jordi Gracia is co-director of Artes del Ensayo. Revista internacional sobre el ensayo hispánico.

As an expert in the historical Avant-Gardes, contemporary Spanish narrative and Hispanic essay, he wrote the essays Los espejos del novelista  (1998) and Travesías vanguardistas (2009), the anthology Proceder a sabiendas. Antología de la narrativa de vanguardia española, 1923-1936  (1997), Prosa del 27 (2000), Contemporáneos. Prosa (2003) and Poéticas de las vanguardias históricas (2007). He published several contemporary classics from Unamuno, Azorín, Jarnés, Ramón Gómez de la Serna and Antonio Marichalar to Carmen Laforet, Miguel Delibes, Antonio Buero Vallejo or Javier Cercas. Alongside Jordi Gracia, he is also the co-author of the books Ensayo español.Siglo XX (2008), Derrota y restitución de la modernidad, 1939-2010 (2011), 7th volume of la Història de la literatura espanyola dirigida per José-Carlos Mainer, Más es más. Sociedad y cultura en la España democrática, 1986-2008 (2009), Ondulaciones. El ensayo literario en la España del s. XX (2015) and Pensar por ensayos en la España del siglo XX (2015).

He directed the two-volume work 100 escritores del siglo XX. Ámbito Internacional y Ámbito Hispánico (2008 y 2012) y Ámbito Hispánico and the collection Grandes Autores de la Literatura de l'editorial Gredos. His latest works include the publications of the collection of letters by Antonio Buero and Vicente Soto Cartas boca arriba Cartas boca arriba (1954-2000) (2016), de Soldados de Salamina (2017), de Javier Cercas, i d'Antonio Marichalar, Entre tiempos y espacios. Crónicas literarias en "The Criterion" (1923-1938) i "La Nación" (1936-1943) (2017).
