MEDINA BRAVO, PILAR
Biography note
Pilar Medina-Bravo (Barcelona, 1966). Senior Lecturer (Department of Communication at Pompeu Fabra University, UPF, Spain). She holds a Bachelor’s in Clinical Psychology (University of Barcelona, UB, Spain) and Ph.D. in Psychology (UB). Coordinator of the Research Group Critical Communication (CritiCC). Her research lines are focused on gender perspective with special attention to intersectionality. She has published articles and books about misogyny in the web, domestic violence, female migrants, romantic love stereotypes in adolescence, acculturation or masculinity roles. She has published papers in high top academic journals as Young, Journalism Practice, Media, Culture and Society or Revista Latina de Comunicación Social. She teaches ‘Gender and Communication’ and ‘Consumption Psychosociology’ at the Faculty of Communication (UPF).
