I am a sign language interpreter and a linguist. I am currently working as a predoctoral researcher in the SIGN-HUB project, in the Department of Translation and Language Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University, and I am part of the LSC Lab and the Formal Linguistics Research Group. I also teach different courses related to linguistics and language learning in the BAs of Translation and Interpretation and Applied Languages.

My thesis focuses on the study of information structure in Catalan Sign Language (LSC). I provide an exhaustive description of the different notions of information structure: topic, focus and contrast, with a special interest in the notion of contrast. I identify how different types of contrast (parallel contrast, selective contrast and corrective contrast) are expressed at the prosodic and syntactic levels in different structures, and I analyze the correlation between the prosodic markers of contrast and different semantic-pragmatic interpretations, such as exhaustivity. I also analyze focus particles and cleft sentences in LSC, and their role in the expression of exhaustivity. My research adopts a semantic-pragmatic perspective, taking into account the interaction with prosody.

In addition, I collaborate in the Catalan Sign Language Corpus project promoted by the Institut d'Estudis Catalans. This collaboration has aroused my interest for other research topics, such as the phonology of LS and dialectal variation, which can be analyzed through corpus linguistics.
