I am a linguist particularly interested in the language contact between sign languages and spoken languages. I studied my Master Degre at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Now, I am a Ph.D. student at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Department of Translation and Language Science) and I am part of the LSC Lab and GLiF research group.

My primary research interests are syntax and morphology. I work with Spanish written data to understand how different languages may be influenced each other, specifically how a visual- gestural language (Mexican Sign Language and Catalan Sign Language) may interact with a spoken language (Spanish) in its “visual written” modality. Also, I’m interested in comparing this language contact with another type of language contact that happens between languages of the same modality.
