PRESENTERS

Lara Pires Weeissbock: Moviments socials juvenils: Teories, metodologies i estudi de cas en la mobilització 8M a Espanya

Based on the assumption that historically changes in global processes, driven by economic, cultural, social and political issues, were and are accompanied by different social struggles, which seek to reverse or face hegemonic logic, it is understood that social movements represent the impulses in the search for social change, arising mainly from crisis in living conditions and mistrust in political institutions, causing people to become involved in collective actions outside the institutional channels with the aim of seeking change. In this context, the proposal is in dealing with the concepts of youth and social movements, presenting an overview of the main social movements that took place in Spain starting in 2011, but also by addressing some others in a global order, such as the fieldwork done in Barcelona - 8M, on March 8, 2019 with young students, as well as after post-movement contacts.

Fernan del Val: Entre gourmets i militants: les botigues de discos al segle XXI

Disc stores and vinyl records are two cultural objects that, at the beginning of this decade, seemed to be driven by the survival of specific musical niches. But in recent years the independent disk stores are once again proliferating, due to the revival of vinyl. In this paper I will review the most recent analyzes of these dynamics for, based on a fieldwork carried out in the city of Porto, to problematize and complete some of the theories that have arisen in this regard. In this sense, I will focus on the types of existing stores (first or second hand, specialized or general), which I think will help us to understand the different strategies that stores have adopted to adapt to the new musical formats and the fragmented consumption of music that is given today.

Priscila Alvarez-Cueva: La música a la construcció de la identitat juvenil. Anàlisi de les masculinitats i feminitats de les cançons més populars entre joves.

This research project considers music as an element intimately related to the construction and consolidation of identity, on the individual and the collective level, especially in ages where social and imaginary conflicts are constant: youth. Through a methodological triangulation, consisting of a content analysis, focus groups and life stories, the main purpose of the study is to identify the role played by the most popular music - understanding it as the most listened - into the construction of '(self) social models of masculinity and femininity by young people in the city of Barcelona. As a secondary objective, the study aims to analyze how these constructions relate to elements such as the 'sexualization of culture', the ‘rape culture’ and the 'romantic love'.
