On March 16th, at the La Central del Raval Library, the presentation of the book "La imagio autobiográfica" (Gedisa, Barcelona, 2018) took place.

This project, according to Feixa, collects the work of at least two decades in which life stories play a transcendental role not only as a research methodology but, mainly, to know the history and society from its protagonists and thus give voice to those who often do not have the opportunity to speak-up.

The opening of the event was in charge of Mónica Figueras Maz who commented about the main projects and works that Carles Feixa has done, including the Transgang project that he currently directs at the Pompeu Fabra University.

Teun Van Dijk, on the other hand, highlighted some opinions about the methodology of life stories that, in his words, are an excellent complement to the critical analysis of discourse. "I highlight the modesty of the author", Van Dijk mentioned, because in the different chapters you can see the co-authorship of the people who are part of these life stories. "If you want to learn more about society, listening to the protagonists is key," he added.

Finally, in her speech, Dolores Juliano applauded the organization and genius of the person who was also his student, Carles. For her, the book takes the life stories and incorporates them as a work tool. In the user manual, she mentioned, are precise signals of how research is conducted are carried out which, by the way, prioritizes -according to Juliano- the participant research. "In a life story it is impossible not to get involved," she said.
