Researcher Macarena García González took part in the Summer School of the Master’s Program in Literature at the Austral University of Chile, in Valdivia, with a lecture on non-fiction literary texts that address border crossings from children’s experiences. Focusing on books published by Latin American authors residing in the United States, she explored testimonial forms in narratives for and about young readers and children.

Her presentation, “Formas, pliegues y afectos en literaturas posautónomas sobre la frontera”, examined literary texts as means to negotiate narratives about borders, belonging, injustice, and epistemic violence. The talk was offered to the entire academic community in Valdivia as part of the training program for master’s students in literature during the second week of January.
