Youth Global Engagement for Climate Action YOUGECA
The Youth Global Engagement for Climate Action research project, coordinated by Mariona Ferrer-Fons and Roger Soler-i-Marti, has been accepted in the call for research projects on the planetary welfare of the Pompeu Fabra University.
The project aims to lay the foundations for defining an international collaborative research on the formation of environmental and climatic awareness attitudes in young people and their involvement in global climate movements. He wants to link the issue of climate change with the activism of the new generations and intergenerational solidarity, a fundamental aspect of planetary well-being.
To do this, it is proposed, first of all, to develop a pilot research that will contribute to identifying key elements in attitudes and practices of youth involvement, paying special attention to the role of education (formal, non-formal and informal) and of the social networks and taking as a case study the global movement of students for climate in Catalonia. Secondly, the project aims to establish and energize an international network of researchers aimed at presenting the calls for funding of large international research projects on youth involvement for climate action.
¡Congratulations to both of our members!
