In order for the actions of public institutions to respond to the needs of citizens, their participation in decision-making processes must be encouraged. Improving the democratic quality of administrations' interventions is also a fundamental aspect of reducing the distance with the public, especially the young person, increasingly critical and demanding with the actions of the Government. Understanding how young people participate, what makes things difficult and what makes more participation is a first step towards improving and promoting initiatives that favor the involvement of young people in public affairs. For this reason, the Directorate General for Youth and the General Directorate for Citizen Participation and Electoral Processes promote the five-year drafting of the Participation and Political Survey (EPP), which in only three editions has become the reference instrument to know The situation and the evolution of citizen participation in Catalonia. The results of the PPE have been analyzed in depth by researchers and researchers from various Catalan universities, and Youth and social and political involvement responds to the desire to share the knowledge generated and to provide reflections and instruments to foster participation among the youth

Objetives:

• Analyze the evolution and the state of the question of the social and political involvement of young people and the differences with other age groups.
• Examine specific aspects of young participation and provide instruments to promote them.
• Reflect on participatory processes with young people driven from local entities.
• Generate a network among people linked to work with young people and in the field of participation.

• Local elected offices and staff of the Catalan public administrations, especially in the field of youth and participation.
• Research personnel in the fields of youth and participation.
• Members of organizations and social groups.
