Celia Martínez Sáez holds a PhD in Iberian and Latin American Studies from The Ohio State University (2019) and is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Humanities at UPF, where she is developing the project Embodying Glocal Feminism: A New Feminist Cultural Movement in Catalonia (2017-2023) (GlocalFem). She has taught literature and cultural studies at California State University and Occidental College (Los Angeles, California). Her research focuses on gender and sexuality, national identity, popular culture, and 21st-century technologies. She has published in prestigious academic journals such as Letras Hispanas, Journal of Spanish Cultural Studies, Afro-Hispanic Review, and Bulletin of Spanish Visual Studies, among others.
