Back HackLab in the audiovisual media!

HackLab in the audiovisual media!

25.02.2017

Since its opening, HackLab has attracted the attention of several audiovisual media, which have echoed the initiative and wanted to know a little more about what we do. Here are some examples:

Vilaweb, the leading digital newspaper in Catalan, interviewed Marcel Farrés, one of the responsible for the HackLab. The article talks about a "new classroom of technology experimentation" to refer to it, and mentions computer science as one of the many areas to which the space is addressed. You can listen to the entire interview here.

Marcel also appeared in El Punt Avui, in relation to this same intervention in the program L'Internauta, produced by Vilaweb. Among other things, they talk about the difficulties involved in the dissemination of the benefits offered by the space and the advantages from making use of it. You can watch the full program here.

The Digital de Barcelona shows some of the initiatives that have emerged in the UPF community that have been developed within the framework of the HackLab, such as the Guifi.net collaborative network, development communities in Arduino and Xbee -Hands-on Wireless Sensor Networks or the programming workshop for the ACM-UPF Contest that took place in 2014.

In their words, the HackLab is constituted as "a space of self-managed culture and interdepartmental collaboration". Watch it here. Àngels Molina, a journalist in Betevé also talks about this.

Other projects that have been carried out within the HackLab have been promoted via Facebook by the Professional Careers Service of the University itself. As a result, an event aimed at giving international visibility to the CV (especially in the field of engineering, although open to the whole community), was held which took place at the HackLab on April 26 of 2016. You can take a look here.

Some non-institutional blogs have also wanted to inform about the creation and philosophy of HackLab UPF, from a global and organizational perspective. This is the case of Jaume Barceló, who speaks of the HackLab as a mechanism to initiate knowledge transfer and management, and launch workshops and workshops. Jaume also mentions other spaces for interdisciplinary collaboration, such as the FabLab in Barcelona. Here is the post in his website.
