On October 25 and 26, Pompeu Fabra University hosted the long-awaited Creadors de Canvi: Social Impact Bootcamp, an intensive program aimed at young people between 18 and 30 years old with a vocation for social transformation and innovation. A total of 21 students actively participated in this experience, acquiring practical skills to tackle real social challenges with a social and sustainable economy approach.

The Bootcamp took place over two days. On Friday 25 October, participants enjoyed a welcome session, followed by the divergence phase, a creative space to explore innovative ideas. Saturday, October 26, was dedicated to concretizing and making viable the projects worked on the previous day. The day ended with an elevator pitch presentation, where each team presented their idea to the jury and their colleagues.

Thanks to Lafta Bankola, we had multicultural catering that enriched the experience, offering participants a selection of dishes that represented diversity and brought a special dimension to the event.

The mentoring organizations that collaborated with the Bootcamp were:

  • SePrA: focused on applying the gender perspective to the prevention of occupational risks.
  • Tsuru Catering: with the challenge of bringing sustainable food closer to the university community and young people.
  • ePlural: working on challenges related to Energy Communities and the energy transition.
  • Sostre Cívic: contributing ideas about access to housing.

At the end of the day, voting was held where participants, mentoring organizations and the organizational team selected the winning teams in the categories of most innovative project and project with the most social impact. The selected projects received a diploma attesting to this achievement and a gift voucher from Top Manta, a social brand committed to inclusion and dignity at work.

This Bootcamp is part of the Ocell de Foc program, an initiative to promote education and social impact among young people, providing them with tools to become agents of change in their communities. UPF students will also be able to recognize 2 RAC credits for their participation and will have the opportunity to obtain professional internships in collaborating organizations.
