On February 25th, a introductional workshop to 3D printing on the Comunicació-Poblenou Campus, was organized by the company RICOH with the collaboration of HackLab. Here is a brief summary of the topics covered in the session:

1) What is additive manufacturing, in contrast to traditional manufacture?

2) Technologies and additive manufacturing machines (FDM, SLA, SLS, Polyject ...).

3) FDM: Leapfrog Creatr HS printers, and others (Movement Maker).

4) Conceptual map of 3D design and printing: from idea to design, from processing to data (STL) to printing settings, and finally to printing of the piece (creation of GCode) .

5) Free design software (123D, Tinkercad), "slice", print (CURA) and fish library (Thingiverse).

6) Practical examples.
