CONTENTE, CLAUDIA

Claudia Contente is researcher at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF, Barcelona), she’s author of Familias en la Tormenta. Tierra, familia y transmisión de patrimonio en el Río de la Plata, siglos XVIII y XIX (Prometeo, Buenos Aires, 2015) and Revista Illes i Imperis’s associate editor (GRIMSE, Departament d’Humanitats, UPF). She also form part of the research team who organize the Séminaire d’Histoire de la Famille at Ecole des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS, Paris), and she’s a board member of the International Commission for Historical Demography. She has been scientific coordinator of the State Building in Latin America project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC). She has edited with Juan Carlos Garavaglia Configuraciones estatales, regiones y sociedades locales América Latina, siglos XIX-XX (Barcelona, Editorial Bellaterra: 2011). She published journal articles and books chapters about River Plate’s rural history their inhabitants and activities in the XVIII and XIX century.
