Albert Sales Campos

Lecturer in the Political and Social Sciences Department of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and associated professor in the Public Law Department of the Universitat de Girona (UdG).

He holds a degree in Political Sciences by the UPF, a Master in Public and Social Policies by the UPF and The Johns Hopkins University and DEA by the Sociological Theory Departement in the UB.

His main research topic is social exclusion in urban areas. He has repeatedly advised the social services of Barcelona in the monitoring of poverty and social exclusion. From the begining of 2009, he coordinates the poverty working group of the Consell Municipal de Benestar Social de Barcelona. During 2010, he advised the working group on poverty of the Consell Assessor de la Gent Gran (Senior Citizens Advisory Council) of the City of Barcelona. He elaborated the last two reports on homelessness situation in Barcelona published by the "Xarxa d'Atenció a les Persones Sense Llar" (in 2011 and 2013).

He is also carrying out research on the prison system in Catalonia, particularly on the quality of life of foreign-born prisoners.
