The project “From the Classroom to the Public. Biomedical Engineering: Present and Future” was presented at the 2026 Teaching Innovation Meeting of the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, held on May 7 at the Mar Campus.

The initiative, coordinated by Gema Revuelta and Carolina Llorente, was recently recognized within the UPF 2025-2026 Teaching Innovation Recognition and Support Programme. Developed within the Biomedical Engineering degree, the project integrates public science communication into students’ learning processes.

The project culminates in the organization of public webinars and the creation of a collective digital magazine produced by the students themselves. Through these activities, students develop skills related to science communication, critical thinking, and the social dimension of biomedical engineering.

The webinars from the second edition of the project took place in April 2026 and will soon also be available on the CCS-UPF YouTube channel. In parallel, the second issue of the digital magazine is expected to be published in July 2026.

The presentation was part of a session dedicated to sharing innovative teaching experiences within the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences, alongside other projects focused on synthetic biology, collaborative bioinformatics, and socio-emotional skills.
