The CCS-UPF, in the framework of the Macrophage Targets for Metastatic Treatment (Mac4Me) project, will investigate the communication with patients and the wider society, develop effective communication strategies to disseminate results and advances to different audiences, and promote shared decision making in the field of health.
The Mac4Me Doctoral Network aims to improve the treatment of cancer and metastasis by placing the patient at the center of the investigation. Artificial Intelligence algorithms will be used to integrate clinical metastasis data, identify new immune therapeutic targets and improve the efficacy of immunotherapy in the treatment of metastatic cancer.
Gema Revuelta, director of the CCS-UPF (part of the Department of Medicine and Life Sciences), will lead Mac4Me to study the processes of this integrative and participatory research, as well as the most effective ways to communicate cancer research to diverse audiences.
