2º Study of the Ideograma-UPF Chair: Credibility analysis of information according to the attribution of sources in Covid-19 times
The Ideograma - UPF Chair presents its second study focused on the credibility of information. Now in the context of the Covid-19.

In the second study focused on the credibility of information, the Ideograma - UPF Chair of Politcal Communication and Democracy analyzes the effect of the typology of informative sources on the credibility of a news item about Covid-19.

Continuing with the collaboration with the market research company, YouGov Spain, with which it already collaborated in the first credibility study of the Ideograma - UPF Chair, a demographic study is carried out with a sample of 2.007 individuals from all over Spain, representative in the variables Sex, Age and Province of origin. The survey was conducted between July 23 and 30, in C.A.W.I. (Online assisted interview).

The total sample was divided into 5 groups. All these groups have received the same news of digital press written on an outbreak of Covid-19 to a Spanish population, but with the difference that in each group the news was shown to him with different informative sources: citizen sources, famous sources, sources experts, political sources and no sources. Therefore, each group received a different typology of information source, which allowed us to observe the divergences that appeared in the evaluation of the credibility of the news. Among the typologies of sources we have the news "without sources", which acted as a control group.

The main objective of this research is to understand how Spanish people assess the credibility of a news story about Covid-19 based on the source of information contained in the news. Also to know which are the sociodemographic variables that can have incidence in the evaluation of the credibility.
