The first European festival of films created by artificial intelligence, organized by Pompeu Fabra University in collaboration with Sònar + D, will consist of four associated events:

• RESEARCH: An international research conference on the future of AI in digital content creation and its impact on the media industry. Topics include the narrative capacity of AI tools, ethical use of AI, creativity, copyright, and redefinition of the authorship concept.
• FEST: +RAIN Film Fest opens an international call for films that use AI models in their creative processes and explore their narrative and technological capabilities. +RAIN Film Fest invites directors to present and discuss their work at public screenings. An international jury selects the most innovative films for exhibition, also at Sónar+D.
• FAIR: A space for connection and exchange between filmmakers and audiovisual creation professionals working with AI, and producers and companies in the audiovisual and technology sectors. This fair connects international profiles that bet on AI in their production processes.
• LIVE: A musical and audiovisual event with a performative character of proposals with AI. LIVE turns the spaces of the Gutenberg square on the Poblenou campus of UPF into a space to enjoy musical and audiovisual works that stem from research and experimentation processes with AI.

The Chair of Communication Futures will participate in the project by coordinating the FAIR section, creating an ecosystem of work between communication professionals and individuals who create, direct, or produce audiovisual content from processes that involve artificial intelligence in some of their phases.
