Catia Faria (they/them) is an antispeciesist activist and a professor in the Department of Philosophy and Society at the Complutense University of Madrid. They hold a PhD in moral philosophy from the Pompeu Fabra University and are a founding member of the Centre for Animal Ethics at the same university. Their work focuses on normative and applied ethics, particularly at the intersection of animal ethics, feminist ethics, and ethics of artificial intelligence. Their latest book, "Animal Ethics in the Wild," was published by Cambridge University Press (2023). They are a co-editor, along with Núria Almiron, of the book "Speciesism and Language," forthcoming by Plaza y Valdés (2024).
