Àlex is a Computer Engineer with a European Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering. After that, he joined the Research Unit on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) in order to conduct research towards a PhD degree in Biomedicine. His PhD was focused on NLP and addressed the difficult task of detecting information from the biomedical literature. Currently, he is a NLP-researcher at the UPF in the TALN Group and his research is, mainly, focused on applying Machine Learning (Neural Networks) techniques in the NLP field for scientific literature.
