Statistics, Probability, and Machine Learning Research Group
We study statistics, probability, and machine learning from a theoretical and methodological perspective. Our work ranges from modelling high-dimensional and dependent data to understanding mathematical principles behind machine-learning methods.
We coordinate and teach in the Data Science Methodology Masters Program.
Research Lines
-
Statistical learning theory and machine learning, including the foundations of deep learning.
-
Graphical models and networks, focusing on structural inference, and network archaeology.
-
High-dimensional and robust statistics, Bayesian methods, and inference under heavy contamination.
-
Stochastic analysis and random processes, with applications to dependence structures, and diffusion models.
