Postdoctoral Researcher

Morteza Rasouligandomani is a junior postdoctoral researcher specializing in Adult Spine Deformities (ASD) and Spine Biomechanics. He excellently defended his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Pompeu Fabra University in October 2023. During his PhD, he excelled in in silico computational simulations of instrumented thoracolumbar patient-personalized models, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Statistical Shape Models (SSM), to predict mechanical complications following spine corrective surgeries. He is also recognized as the technology developer of a spin-off focusing on ASD prognosis and spine surgery planning.

Morteza has accumulated extensive multidisciplinary experience in hospital frameworks, academia, private companies, and manufacturing entities, as well as effective collaborations with spine surgeons and clinicians. He has advised software developers and has been a hands-on moderator at several summer schools, while also assuming teaching roles in Biomedical Engineering courses. His background includes a master's degree in Aerospace Engineering (Aero-Structure) from Sharif University of Technology, Iran.

In recognition of his achievements, Morteza has been awarded various honors and recognitions, such as funding for his PhD and being the 2020 mobility award winner of the European Society of Biomechanics. In summary, Morteza is a highly qualified and entrepreneurial researcher with a solid background in biomedical and aerospace engineering. His innovative approach to developing technologies to predict and prevent mechanical complications in spine surgeries has garnered national and international recognition and funding.
