The Research Group on Public International Law and International Relations studies relevant issues on contermporary international society, both from a legal and a political perspective. The transformations of the international legal system and world politics inform the research interests orienting publications and activities of the Group researchers.

The Research Group on Public International Law and International Relations began its activities by the end of the nineties, under the academic guidance of Professor Oriol Casanovas y la Rosa. The consolidation of teaching and research by the Department of International Law and International Relations at Universitat Pompeu Fabra led to the official acknowledgment of the Group in 2005, to the expansion of its research fields of interest, and to the considerable increase in the number of activities deployed and associated members.
