Good News! The COURAGE team will be represented with two contributions at the 13th
Conference of the Media Psychology Division of the German Psychological Association. The
international conference focuses on “Inclusion and Diversity in Media Psychology” and will
take place in Luxembourg in September 2023. COURAGE will contribute two studies on the
impact of virtual learning companions (VLC) that guide and support adolescents in their daily
use of social media when facing critical content such as cyberbullying and discrimination. By
either training empathy or providing specific information, the VLC aims to strengthen users’
self-protection skills and their understanding of the relevance of inclusion and diversity in
everyday life. Besides, there are more contributions from COURAGE team members: Veronica
Schwarze presents her PhD project, an interactive eBook for sensitizing children to racial and
ethnic diversity, Dr. Johanna Börsting will have a talk on a study about phubbing. We are
looking forward to a great conference and fruitful discussions.
