The Courage Team in Barcelona participated in the 3rd International Conference on Communication and Health (CICyS) to introduce the Courage Instareal platform and present preliminary results on body image topics.

Streamed online, J. Roberto Sánchz-Reina, joined the 3rd International Conference on Communication and Health (CICyS) to present the paper “Addressing the influence of social networks on body image. An approach from Instareal”. The research item which broadens the impact of social media on body image through the lens of Instareal, presents the results from the social media literacy workshops conducted in Barcelona.

Presented within the track of ICT us, the metaverse, and Artificial Intelligence in health, Sánchez-Reina’s presentation introduced the intricate relationship between social media and body image to later describe some of the relevant findings from the Courage project. The presentation sparked meaningful discussions within the realm of health communication and technology, earning widespread recognition of the role of social in mental health today.

The International Conference on Communication and Health (CICyS) is an annual conference organized by the Communication and Analysis Theory Research group at the Complutense University in Madrid, chaired by Ubaldo Cuesta and Almudena Martínez Barrientos.
