Rin4min, research in four minutes - (UPF)
Rin4min is the doctoral thesis presentation competition at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The challenge: explain your research in 4 minutes, using clear and engaging language for a non-specialist audience.
The competition aims to:
- Promote clear and rigorous science communication
- Strengthen doctoral students’ oral communication skills

Bring research closer to society
In addition, the winner will represent UPF at the final organized by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI), with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) in which all the Catalan universities are involved.
The prizes for the 2026 edition of Rin4min are as follows:


Participation requirements
Be enrolled as a PhD student at UPF during the 2025-2026 academic year, or have submitted your doctoral thesis during this same period.
Not having defended the doctoral thesis before the application deadline.
Be, at least, a second-year student.
To commit to participating on the dates of the competition and, if selected as the winner, to attend the Final of the «Presenta la teva tesi en 4 minuts» competition, organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI).
Not having been the winner of the first prize in previous editions.
