On Wednesday 31 May, on the Ciutadella campus, a new blood, plasma and bone marrow donation campaign was launched under the slogan: "Time to give, time to receive life: solidarity connecting lives" organized by the Blood and tissue bank, after more than two years of hiatus due to covid-19.
The call was directed at all members of the university community; students and administrative and service staff (PAS), and teaching and research staff (PDI). It was also open to the  general public.

In the end, more than 50 people responded, of whom 43 gave blood and plasma, and 16 donated bone marrow. In addition, for 25 of these people it was the first time they had made a donation. Thanks to the show of solidarity by all donors, 129 patients will benefit.

As explained by the Blood and tissue bank, actions like this are essential to boost blood reserves with summer just around the corner, a season that is usually characterized by a drop in donations, and to achieve the necessary daily number of donations.
