- Xavier Marcet: "Further Education: Updating Strategic Challenges"
On Friday, 30 January, as part of the process for drafting the new Strategic Plan, we were invited to reflect upon the future challenges facing the university by Xavier Marcet, an expert on strategic innovation and president of Lead to Change. The meeting was open to the entire university community and offered an overview of the paradigm shift the university will undergo in the coming years. It also prompted the discussion on what kind of UPF we want for the future.
- Hugh C. Davis: "Should digital technologies change the way we teach?"
In reference to the strategic line Teaching and Learning, this lecture was given on Tuesday 9 June in the Mercè Rodoreda Auditorium on the Ciutadella Campus. Hugh C. Davis invited us to reflect upon the role of new technologies in the area of further education and how these may modify how content is taught and learnt.
Hugh C. Davis is Professor of Learning Technologies at the Web and Internet Science Research Group (WAIS) of the University of Southampton (United Kingdom) and Director of the Institute for Learning Innovation and Development (ILIaD); a collaboration between faculties and professional services to research and transform education. The team is responsible for supporting blended learning in the university and the production of MOOCs in collaboration with FutureLearn.
