What began a year ago as an International Women's Day initiative has already grown into a solid and vibrant community. The UPF Alumni Women Jurists Network celebrated its first anniversary with a gathering on March 10th that confirmed one clear reality: the female talent at UPF is determined to transform the legal world.

This network is defined by its intergenerational nature, bringing together established professionals with long-standing careers alongside emerging talent just starting out. Furthermore, it comprises a wide range of experts with responsibilities across all areas of law: law firms, corporate legal departments, public administration, and academia.

Through a three-phase dynamic — personal connection, professional activation, and a debate on female leadership in the legal sector — attendees had the opportunity to forge alliances and share visions regarding the sector's real-world challenges. The diagnosis is clear: despite being strategic assets within organizations, women still occupy very few positions of leadership and real power in the legal world.

The meeting focused on the need to combat the tendency to downplay personal achievements and the urgency of promoting conscious and transformative leadership. The goal is to generate female role models with their own voices — stepping away from traditional patterns — and to give visibility to these new models.

Ultimately, the UPF Alumni Women Jurists Network is establishing itself with the goal of turning personal alliances into a real engine for change, moving from reflection to action. This gathering marks the starting point for new projects and collaborations that will continue to thrive throughout the year. All UPF Law graduates are invited to join this movement to continue building, together, a legal sector with a woman's voice.
