Summary

Based on academic research and oriented towards existing policies on Arab and world youth, the SAHWA Project aims to address a variety of issues related to youth in Mediterranean Arab countries with four general objectives:

1 Conceptualization of the transition in the Arab-Mediterranean countries with a focus on youth, from an interdisciplinary perspective.

2 Mapping of political, socio-economic and cultural change in the Mediterranean Arab world in a context of multiple transitions, focusing on: • Perspectives from different countries and stakeholders • Perspectives for young people and trends to anticipate future changes • Identification of opportunities for young, considered As a transforming agent.

3 Comparison of similar transition processes in other historical contexts as possible models to inform the management of political and economic transformations in the Arab Mediterranean.

4 Inform policymakers with a set of original tools and frameworks to achieve a better understanding of the role of young people and contribute to a better design of national public policies and EU cooperation to support the change in the region.
