MonkingMe is a digital music platform that allows users to listen, download and share music completely legal and for free while artists earn money

This iniciative is created by four students from various disciplines, mostly of them from Universitat Pompeu Fabra: Miquel Tolosa, CEO and co-founder, Computer Science student; Adrià Sarquella, CTO and Android/Ios programmer, Computer Science and Audiovisuals Systems student; Damià Fuentes, Android Programmes and Audiovisual Systems student; and Raul Martínez, graphic design and co-founder, Nanosciene and Nanotechnology UAB student.

Currently, while there are various payment platforms for listening to music, the 80% of music is downloaded illegally. MonkingMe wants to change the current music business model, allowing users to consume music for free and paying creators via download adds. In addition, the platform brings consumers closer to new artists, facilitating the creation of a fan base more easily and leveraging other avenues of revenue for artists through free content.

Within the platform you can download and share music, sync it with your app, view concerts and merchandising. Being completely free also for artists, MonkingMe is perfect for emerging bands and musicians who want to make themselves known through an alternative model. Additionally, of course, for those users who want to discover new talents and enjoy their music without paying.
