Luis Salvador-Carulla is Professor of Intellectual Disability and Mental Health. With an international career, he is currently Deputy Co-Director of the Health Research Institute at the University of Canberra and Professor of Mental Health at several universities, including Canberra, Sydney, and previously Cádiz. He has served as an advisor to the World Health Organization, the European Commission, the Government of Spain, and the Government of Catalonia, and has led international projects such as the Integrated Atlas of Mental Health to map mental health services worldwide. He has also received recognitions such as the Leon Eisenberg Award from Harvard Medical School (2012) and the Tom Trauer Award (2022) for his contributions to research in mental health services.
His research lines focus on the development of decision-support tools for the analysis of public health systems and policies, with a special emphasis on mental health, ageing, disability, and intellectual developmental disorders.
