Perfoming the Lecture Cycle

Performing the Lecture is a cycle of public events hosted by the Centre for Aesthetics, Religion, and Contemporary Culture. The cycle brings together artists, scholars, and performers to plumb the creative potential of the lecture.

Performing the Lecture showcases four experimental lectures, written by distinguished contemporary poets, dramaturgs, and scholars, and staged in collaboration with internationally recognised artists. Each lecture is followed by a public conversation exploring the idea of the lecture as performance and the potential for collaboration and exchange between artists and scholars in contemporary critical culture.

This cycle of events is part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie research project ‘The Other Post-Criticism’, led by Elizabeth Sarah Coles and funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement no. 887344.
