Juan M Pericàs, MD, PhD, MPH is a physician specialized in internal medicine, infectious diseases, and public health. After completing his residency (Hospital Clínic de Barcelona), he carried out research stays at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC, and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Since 2015 he has been an associate researcher at the Health Inequalities Research Group (GREDS) and JHU-UPF Public Policy Center, and from 2016 onwards he is an associate researcher at the Cardiovascular Infections Study Group (Hospital Clínic-IDIBAPS). He worked at the Health Systems and Infectious Diseases Research Group at ISGlobal from 2017 to 2018, when he was appointed chief of the department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology (Arnau de Vilanova-Santa Maria University Hospitals, IRB Lleida). In 2020 he joined the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital and Institute of Research as deputy coordinator of IMI2 project EU-PEARL, chair of the European University Hospital Alliance, and member of the liver unit staff, Internal Medicine Department. Dr Pericàs is member of the editorial boards or scientific committees of Clinical Infectious Diseases, Clinical Microbiology and Infection, BMC Infectious Diseases and Biomedicines. He has participated in over 30 research projects, obtaining funding at the national and international level, and has published over 140 peer-review articles and chapters (h-index: 33)
