The Research Group on Synthetic Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems is part of the Center for Autonomous Systems and Neuro-Robotics and is led by Dr. Paul Verschure. The group focuses on synthetic methods to study and synthesize the neuronal, psychological and behavioural principles underlying perception, emotion and cognition and combines real-world systems such as robots, virtual reality systems and interactive installations with anatomical, physiological and behavioral computer models.

The main research lines are:

  • Cognitive System
  • Hybrid Systems
  • Robotics
  • Psychophysiology
  • Neurorehabilitation
  • Mixed and Virtual Reality
  • Creativity and Interaction
