The Research Group on Developmental Biology is led by Dr. Fernando Giraldez, Dra. Cristina Pujades and Dra. Berta Alsina. The group focuses on the study of cellular and molecular mechanisms that operate very early during embryonic development to ensure patterning and cell fate specification in the nervous system.
The main research lines are:
- Progenitors and mechanisms of neurosensory development in the inner ear
- Early patterning and neural specification of the inner ear
- Molecular mechanisms involved in the patterning of the Central Nervous System
