Filmmaker and visual artist specialized in experimental narratives and film archive

Born in Medellín (Colombia) in 1975, Camilo Restrepo lives and works in France since 1999. He studied Fine Arts before turning to filmmaking and is a member of L’Abominable, a collective film laboratory dedicated to working with celluloid. His films have been selected at major festivals such as the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes, Locarno, Rotterdam, Toronto, and New York. He has won the Pardino d’Argento at Locarno twice for his short films La impresión de una guerra and Cilaos. His feature Los Conductos was part of the Encounters international competition at the 2020 Berlinale, where it won the award for Best First Feature.
