SÁNCHEZ BUSO, JAVIER

Javier Sánchez is a PhD candidate in the Political and Social Science Department at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) under the supervision of Simone M. Schneider. He is part of the ERC-funded project PERGAP ‘The (Mis)Perception of Economic Inequality. The Impact of Welfare State Institutions on Social Perception and Preference Formation’. In his doctoral dissertation, he will study institutional characteristics and how they affect status perceptions and feed back into redistribution preferences and political behavior.

He completed a Master of Research in Political Science from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2023), and a double bachelor degree in Law and Political Sciences from Universitat de València (2022). His research interests encompass public governance of social policies, social inequalities and their influence upon political behavior. In the past, he conducted research in the area of regulatory policy and public law with a particular focus on the governance of environmental and energy policy at the Universitat de València.
