Contributing Data to CNEP

Submission Process & Guidelines

Researchers interested in contributing data should:

  1. Review the CNEP methodology and core questionnaire for your chosen model
  2. Ensure compatibility with CNEP core questionnaire content
  3. Prepare documentation following our guidelines

Before starting the submission process, please carefully review the submission guidelines, where all documentation requirements and detailed steps are explained.

After reviewing the guidelines, please send an email to [email protected] indicating that your data is ready for submission and include:

  • Country and year of the election

  • Number of waves (if panel study)

  • Sample size (total and per wave, if applicable), timing of interviews, mode of interviews, sampling method, population covered and response rate

  • Expected submission date

  • PI(s) of survey, organization conducing survey and funder for survey

  • Response rate documentation following the American Association for Public Opinion Research standards (AAPOR) (see the sample documentation provided in the Data Format Guidelines section).

We will then provide access to a dedicated Google Drive folder for uploading the materials.

Required Materials

  • Dataset in standardized format
  • Codebook and variable documentation
  • Methodological report/Technical Documentation
  • Sample questionnaire(s) used (original language and English)
  • Variable Coverage Table
  • Party Information Sheet (name of party and its variable name in the data set, whether it is government, opposition, or new opposition)
