On 13 April 2026, the Workshop on the Philosophical Reflections on the Ecological Crisis took place at the Campus de la Ciutadella of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Pablo Magaña and Eze Paez, members of the UPF-CAE were presenting their paper "The Political Claims of Sentient Beings to AI Governance" during the event.

The workshop was organized by Catarina Neves (Utrecht University), Josep Recasens (Universitat Pompeu Fabra), and Luca Hemmerich (FU Berlin), with the support of Iñigo González Ricoy (Universitat de Barcelona) and with the support of Paula Casal, co-director of the UPF-Centre for Animal Ethics.
