Space

ARSENAL is located in theLa Nau building on the Poblenou campus. In 2023, Miba Architects were commissioned to transform the space, situated on the first floor of the building. The design strategy was based on two main actions:

• Remove any layer that was not essential for the proper use of the space, in order to showcase the original architecture.
• Provide all spaces with optimal environmental comfort, including lighting, climate, and acoustics.

The resulting space appears transparent, thanks to the replacement of opaque partitions with glass, and it is stripped back, with just the ceiling clad in acoustic panels and letting in light from the two rows of side windows.

• Retirar qualsevol capa que no fos imprescindible per a l'ús adequat de l'espai, per tal de fer ressaltar l'arquitectura original.
• Proveir tots els espais del millor confort ambiental possible, incloent-hi la il·luminació, el clima i l'acústica.

L'espai resultant apareix transparent, fruit del canvi de les mampares opaques per vidre, i nu, només amb un revestiment de panells acústics del sostre i travessat per la llum de les dues fileres de finestres laterals.
